Tailor-Made Travel

Private & custom Denmark tours, designed around you.

Denmark is the gateway to Scandinavia — Copenhagen's Nyhavn and design museums, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk, Kronborg Castle at Helsingør where Shakespeare set Hamlet, and Aarhus with Olafur Eliasson's rainbow walkway. It's smaller, friendlier, and often underrated by travelers rushing north.

Every Black Deer Travel Denmark tour is private and fully custom. From Copenhagen's canals and world-class design museums to the Louisiana Museum's cliff-side setting north of the city, Kronborg Castle at Helsingør, the modern art gallery ARoS in Aarhus, and Hans Christian Andersen's childhood home in Odense, we build it around you — with private guides in every city, private drivers on country roads, and bookings at the restaurants and museums that deserve your time. The best time to visit Denmark is May to September for warm weather and long daylight; Copenhagen and the castles are lovely year-round but open-air experiences are summer pleasures. We arrange every museum visit, every castle tour, and know which Copenhagen neighborhoods reward wandering after the day-trippers leave.

Good to Know

Denmark tours — your questions answered

What is the best time to visit Denmark?

May through September offers warm weather and long daylight. Copenhagen is livable year-round, but beaches and outdoor activities are May–September pleasures. June and September are ideal with fewer crowds than July.

How many days do you need in Denmark?

Three days covers Copenhagen and a day trip to Kronborg or Louisiana. Seven days lets you add Aarhus, Odense, and explore Copenhagen's neighborhoods without rushing.

What makes the Louisiana Museum special?

Louisiana is one of Scandinavia's finest modern art museums, set in a park on the Øresund coast north of Copenhagen, looking across the water to Sweden. The setting is as much the experience as the art: low glass corridors link the galleries, and the sculpture garden runs down to the sea.

How do you get around on a Denmark tour?

Copenhagen is walkable and has excellent public transport. Regional trains connect Copenhagen, Helsingør (Kronborg), Aarhus, and Odense. We arrange a private driver for day trips outside the cities if you prefer.

Can you combine Denmark with Sweden or Norway?

Easily. Trains cross the Øresund Bridge from Copenhagen to Malmö in about 35 minutes, and an overnight ferry sails from Copenhagen to Oslo. Many guests start in Copenhagen and carry on into Sweden or Norway.

Is Denmark good for families?

Very. Copenhagen's Tivoli Gardens, opened in 1843, is one of the oldest amusement parks in the world, and LEGO House in Billund is a short drive from Aarhus. Distances are short and cities are flat and bike-friendly, so days rarely feel long.
